200X Pilot Operated Pressure Reducing Valve is a self-powered hydraulic pressure control valve widely applied in municipal water supply, high-rise building water supply, fire protection pipe networks, water treatment plants and industrial circulating water systems. It automatically reduces and stabilizes fluctuating inlet pressure to a constant preset outlet pressure, effectively protecting downstream pipelines, water meters and terminal equipment from damage caused by excessive pressure.
The valve body is cast from high-strength ductile iron with excellent pressure resistance and structural stability. Standard pressure grades include PN10 and PN16 with flanged connection. The whole valve operates depending on fluid pressure without external power supply. Equipped with an adjustable pilot valve, engineers can set target outlet pressure on site according to engineering requirements.
Working principle: The pilot valve senses the pressure at the valve outlet. If outlet pressure exceeds the preset value, the pilot valve acts to adjust the pressure inside the main valve control chamber, pushing the main valve disc to reduce opening and throttle flow. When outlet pressure drops below the setting value, the main valve gradually opens to increase flow. Continuous dynamic adjustment keeps downstream pressure stable regardless of fluctuations of upstream pressure or flow variation.
Compared with direct-acting pressure reducing valves, the pilot-operated structure features higher regulating precision, stable performance under large flow and low pressure loss. Complete specifications cover DN50 to DN800. Applicable medium is clean water including tap water and fire service water, suitable working temperature ranging from 0℃ to 80℃. Horizontal installation is recommended.
Installation and operation precautions: Install strictly following the flow arrow marked on the valve body. A Y-type strainer must be installed upstream to prevent sediment blocking the pilot pipeline. A shut-off valve and pressure gauge should be arranged on both inlet and outlet sides for convenient debugging and maintenance. Pressure setting must be completed under normal operating flow. This valve is designed for pressure reduction and stabilization; it cannot raise downstream pressure higher than inlet pressure.
All finished valves pass strict shell hydrostatic test, sealing test and pressure regulation performance test before delivery. Each unit is inspected to ensure sensitive response of pilot mechanism and stable pressure control effect.
