900X Emergency Shut-off Valve is a pilot-operated hydraulic control valve specially developed for pipeline safety protection. It is widely used in municipal water supply mains, building main water supply pipelines, water treatment plants and industrial water delivery systems. Its core function is to monitor pipeline pressure in real time. In case of pipeline rupture and massive leakage leading to rapid pressure drop, the valve automatically closes to cut off water flow, minimizing water waste and secondary flooding losses.
The valve body is cast from high-strength ductile iron with reliable pressure resistance and structural rigidity. Standard pressure ratings are PN10 and PN16 with flanged connection. The whole valve operates by fluid pressure without external power supply. Equipped with pressure sensing pilot assembly, operators can set the trigger pressure value on site according to pipeline design requirements.
Working principle: Under normal water supply conditions, the valve keeps fully open to ensure smooth medium transportation. When the pipeline bursts or suffers severe leakage, the pipeline pressure declines sharply. Once pressure falls below the preset trigger value, the pilot mechanism acts immediately. The pressure balance inside the main valve control chamber changes, driving the valve disc to close rapidly and block the pipeline. After maintenance work finishes and pipeline pressure returns to normal range, the valve needs manual reset to reopen for water supply.
The biggest advantage over electric emergency shut-off valves is power failure resistance. The 900X valve still works reliably when power is cut off, making it an ideal safety device for unattended long-distance water delivery pipelines. Complete specifications cover DN50 to DN800. Suitable media are tap water and clean industrial water, operating temperature from 0℃ to 80℃. Horizontal installation is recommended.
Installation and operation notes: Install strictly according to the flow arrow marked on the valve body. A Y-type strainer must be installed upstream to prevent impurities from clogging thin pilot pipelines. The trigger pressure should be calibrated accurately during commissioning to avoid false shutdown caused by normal transient pressure fluctuation in the system. This valve is designed for emergency accident protection and is not suitable for frequent daily opening and closing.
All finished valves pass strict shell hydrostatic test, sealing inspection and emergency closing function test before delivery. Each unit is tested to guarantee sensitive pressure response and stable rapid closing performance. Equipping pipelines with 900X emergency shut-off valve greatly improves the safety level of water supply network.
Featuring hydraulic self-operation, pressure-drop automatic closing, power-failure available and simple maintenance, 900X Emergency Shut-off Valve is well recognized by water engineering contractors worldwide. Our factory can supply different flange standards and customized anti-corrosion coatings to meet various procurement requirements of municipal and industrial water supply projects.
