XD381X Worm Gear Grooved Signal Butterfly Valve is indispensable monitoring shut-off equipment specially designed for fire fighting grooved pipeline systems. Equipped with grooved end connection, worm gear transmission and built-in signal feedback assembly, the valve can realize pipeline cut-off control and feed back real-time fully open or fully closed valve position signals to fire control cabinet. It is widely applied in automatic sprinkler systems, fire hydrant pipelines, underground pipe galleries, commercial buildings and various civil & industrial fire engineering projects.
The valve body is cast from high-strength ductile iron with excellent impact resistance and pressure-bearing performance. The integrated EPDM rubber liner is installed inside the valve cavity. When the butterfly disc closes, it fits tightly with the elastic liner to achieve bidirectional bubble-tight zero leakage. EPDM material features outstanding anti-ageing property and water corrosion resistance, fully meeting long-term service requirements of fire service water. Compared with flanged butterfly valves, grooved connection can be rapidly matched with pipe couplings. No welding and tedious bolt alignment work is required during installation, greatly shortening construction cycle and facilitating disassembly, maintenance and pipeline reconstruction.
Adopting worm gear drive mechanism, the valve realizes labor-saving operation. The worm gear reducer effectively reduces operating torque, making medium and large diameter valves easy to open and close via handwheel. The worm gear unit comes with self-locking function. After adjusting to target opening angle, the butterfly plate will not randomly shift under water flow impact or pipeline vibration. Clear scale marks on the gear box can visually display opening degree for convenient on-site management.
The core characteristic is built-in signal feedback device. When the valve reaches fully open or fully closed position, internal limit switches will be triggered immediately and output electric signals to fire alarm control system. Fire management personnel can remotely check the passage status of fire pipelines without field patrol. If the valve is accidentally closed, the control room will receive prompt alarm information timely, effectively avoiding fire risks caused by blocked pipelines. The signal switch supports normally open and normally closed contacts to adapt to different fire control circuit schemes.
The valve stem adopts stainless steel material with multi-layer sealing packing to prevent medium leakage along the stem. Anti-blowout stem structure improves safety under instantaneous pipeline pressure fluctuation. Standard nominal pressure is PN16, and specifications cover DN50 to DN300. The valve supports horizontal and vertical installation without strict restrictions on fluid flow direction.
It should be noted that this signal butterfly valve is mainly used for pipeline shut-off. Long-term throttling working condition is not recommended. Remaining partially open for a long time will cause continuous fluid scouring on EPDM liner, accelerate wear and shorten service life of sealing components.
All finished valves pass strict shell hydrostatic test and sealing tightness test before delivery.
