Worm Gear Flanged Butterfly Valve is a widely used medium-large caliber pipeline control valve, applied to municipal water supply, building circulating water, water treatment, cooling systems, fire protection pipelines and industrial fluid circulation projects. Equipped with flanged connection and worm gear transmission structure, the valve features labor-saving operation, stable sealing and convenient maintenance, becoming a mainstream pipeline shut-off and regulating equipment.
The valve body is cast from high-strength ductile iron with good pressure resistance and impact toughness. The integral EPDM rubber liner is installed inside the valve cavity. When the butterfly disc closes, it closely fits the elastic liner to realize bidirectional bubble-tight sealing without leakage. EPDM material possesses excellent anti-aging performance and resistance to conventional water medium corrosion, adapting to long-term continuous operation of tap water, circulating water and fire service water. The flanged end can be connected with pipelines via bolts. The connection is firm, stable and suitable for above-ground fixed pipelines and pump station equipment connections.
The valve adopts worm gear reducer drive. Compared with direct manual lever operation, the reducer greatly lowers operating torque. Operators can easily complete opening and closing operation for large-diameter valves by rotating handwheel. The worm gear mechanism has self-locking function. After adjusting to the designated opening position, the butterfly plate will not deflect randomly under medium impact or pipeline vibration. Clear angle scales on the gear box can visually display the opening degree, facilitating on-site operation and management.
The valve stem is manufactured from stainless steel, matched with multi-layer wear-resistant sealing packing to prevent medium leakage along the stem. Built-in anti-blowout stem structure effectively avoids safety hazards caused by instantaneous pressure surges in pipelines. Common nominal pressure specifications include PN10 and PN16, covering complete calibers from DN50 to DN1200. The valve supports horizontal and vertical installation, with no strict restrictions on fluid flow direction.
It needs to be clarified that this butterfly valve can be used for cut-off and occasional flow regulation. Long-term throttling working condition is not recommended. If kept partially open for a long time, high-speed fluid will continuously scour the rubber liner, accelerate wear and shorten the service life of sealing components.
All finished valves pass strict shell hydrostatic test and sealing tightness test according to international standards before delivery. Each product is inspected to guarantee flexible transmission and reliable sealing performance. This standard model does not contain signal feedback components, suitable for pipeline sections without remote valve status monitoring requirements.
With solid flanged connection, labor-saving worm gear operation, compact overall structure and durable elastic sealing, Worm Gear Flanged Butterfly Valve is highly recognized by engineering contractors. It is extensively adopted in waterworks, air conditioning circulating water systems, sewage treatment projects and industrial supporting pipelines. Our factory can provide customized lining materials such as NBR and PTFE as well as special anti-corrosion coating solutions to satisfy diversified procurement demands from global customers.
