Worm Gear Wafer Butterfly Valve is a popular lightweight pipeline shut-off and control component,widely adopted in municipal water supply,central air conditioning circulating water,water treatment,fire protection systems and general industrial fluid pipelines.Combined with wafer clamping connection and worm gear transmission mechanism,the valve features compact structure,light weight and convenient installation,which makes it an economical choice for medium and large caliber piping systems.
The valve body is cast from high-strength ductile iron with good mechanical toughness and pressure resistance.An integrated EPDM rubber liner is installed inside the cavity.When the butterfly disc closes,it closely fits the elastic liner to realize bidirectional bubble-tight zero leakage.EPDM liner owns outstanding anti-aging performance and good adaptability to conventional water media,suitable for long-term transportation of tap water,cooling circulating water and fire service water.Different from flanged butterfly valves,wafer butterfly valve is clamped between two pipeline flanges by full-length bolts.It occupies less installation space,reduces overall weight and effectively cuts down project costs.
Equipped with worm gear reducer,the valve greatly lowers operating torque.Operators can easily complete opening and closing operations of large-diameter valves by rotating the handwheel.The worm gear mechanism has reliable self-locking function.After adjusting to the required opening position,the butterfly plate will not deflect randomly under fluid impact or pipeline vibration.Clear angle scales on the worm gear box can directly display the opening degree for on-site observation and operation management.
The valve stem is manufactured from stainless steel,fitted with multi-layer wear-resistant packing to avoid medium leakage along the stem.Anti-blowout stem structure provides reliable safety protection against sudden pipeline pressure surges.Common pressure grades are PN10 and PN16,with complete specifications ranging from DN40 to DN1200.The valve can be installed horizontally or vertically,and there is no strict requirement for fluid flow direction.
It should be noted that this butterfly valve is mainly designed for pipeline shut-off and occasional flow adjustment.Long-term continuous throttling working condition is not recommended.If staying partially open for a long time,high-speed fluid will continuously scour the rubber liner,accelerate wear and shorten the service life of sealing components.This standard version does not contain signal feedback assembly,applicable to pipeline sections without remote valve position monitoring demands.
All finished valves pass strict shell hydrostatic test and sealing test before delivery.Each valve is inspected to ensure smooth transmission and stable sealing effect.Compared with flanged butterfly valves,wafer type has thinner body,saves raw materials and brings convenience for later disassembly and maintenance.
