Wafer Butterfly Valve

Wafer Butterfly Valve is a lightweight,cost-effective pipeline shut-off and regulating component,widely used in municipal water supply,central air conditioning circulating water,water treatment,fire protection systems and general industrial fluid pipelines.Adopting wafer clamping connection structure,the valve features compact body,light weight and easy installation,and is one of the most commonly used butterfly valves for medium and small to large caliber piping networks.

The valve body is cast from high-strength ductile iron with excellent pressure resistance and impact toughness.An integrated EPDM rubber liner is installed inside the valve cavity.When the butterfly disc closes,it closely fits the elastic liner to achieve bidirectional bubble-tight zero leakage.EPDM material boasts outstanding anti-ageing performance and corrosion resistance for conventional water media,meeting long-term operation requirements of tap water,cooling circulating water and fire service water.

The most prominent structural feature is wafer connection.The valve is clamped between two pipeline flanges by full-length through bolts without independent flanges on the valve itself.This design greatly reduces overall thickness,saves raw materials,lowers equipment investment and occupies less installation space.It is convenient for disassembly,inspection and maintenance during later pipeline renovation.

Multiple driving methods are optional according to project needs,including manual lever operation,worm gear drive,electric actuator and pneumatic actuator.Manual lever type is suitable for small-caliber valves with low operating torque,simple structure and low failure rate.Worm gear drive is adopted for large calibers to save labor force and comes with self-locking function to prevent random rotation of butterfly plate caused by fluid impact.Clear opening scale is equipped for intuitive on-site adjustment.

The valve stem is made of stainless steel and equipped with multi-layer sealing packing to prevent medium leakage along the stem.Built-in anti-blowout stem structure effectively avoids safety risks caused by instantaneous pipeline pressure surges.Standard pressure grades include PN10 and PN16,with complete specifications ranging from DN40 to DN1200.The valve supports horizontal and vertical installation,and there is no strict restriction on fluid flow direction.

It should be noted that the wafer butterfly valve is mainly used for pipeline cut-off and intermittent flow regulation.Long-term continuous throttling service is not recommended.If kept partially open for a long time,high-speed fluid will continuously scour the rubber liner,accelerate abrasion and shorten the service life of sealing elements.Standard models are without signal feedback device,applicable for pipeline sections without remote valve position monitoring.

All finished valves pass strict shell hydrostatic test and sealing tightness test before delivery.Each unit is inspected to guarantee flexible operation and stable sealing effect.Compared with flanged butterfly valves,wafer butterfly valve has obvious advantages in weight,space occupation and project cost.
