Electric Wafer Butterfly Valve is an automatic control valve driven by electric actuator, widely used in municipal water supply, HVAC circulating water, water treatment, heating systems, industrial circulating fluid and intelligent fire pipe networks. Featuring wafer connection and electric automatic driving, the valve can realize remote opening, closing and flow adjustment, which is essential equipment for automated pipeline systems.
The valve body is cast from high-strength ductile iron with excellent pressure resistance and impact toughness. Integrated EPDM rubber liner is installed inside the valve cavity. When the butterfly disc closes, it closely fits the elastic liner to achieve bidirectional bubble-tight zero leakage. EPDM liner features outstanding anti-ageing performance and good compatibility with conventional water medium, suitable for long-term delivery of tap water, cooling water and fire service water. As a wafer type structure, the valve is clamped between two pipeline flanges by through bolts. Compared with flanged butterfly valves, it has thinner body, lighter weight, saves installation space and facilitates disassembly and maintenance.
According to control requirements, the electric actuator can be configured as on-off type or modulating type. On-off actuator is applied for full open and full closed cut-off. Modulating actuator accepts 4-20mA or 0-10V analog signals to continuously adjust opening angle for flow control. The actuator is built with limit switch, overload protection and position feedback function. It can be connected with PLC and centralized control cabinet to realize unattended remote management. Multiple voltage options including AC220V, AC380V and DC24V are available to match different power supply standards worldwide.
The valve stem is made of stainless steel, equipped with multi-layer sealing packing to prevent medium leakage along the stem. Anti-blowout stem structure effectively avoids safety risks caused by sudden pipeline pressure surges. Standard pressure ratings are PN10 and PN16. Complete specifications cover DN40 to DN1200. The valve supports horizontal and vertical installation, with no strict limitation on fluid flow direction.
It should be noted that long-term continuous throttling operation is not advised. When staying partially open for a long time, high-speed fluid continuously scours the rubber liner, accelerating abrasion and shortening sealing service life. If frequent flow regulation is required, reinforced or anti-abrasion lining materials can be customized.
All finished valves pass strict shell hydrostatic test and sealing tightness test before delivery. Every set of electric actuator undergoes repeated action tests to guarantee stable operation and accurate positioning. Different from manual and worm gear butterfly valves, electric wafer butterfly valve eliminates on-site manual operation and significantly improves pipe network automation level.
