Lever Wafer Butterfly Valve is a lightweight manual shut-off valve widely used in municipal water supply, air conditioning circulating water, water treatment, fire protection systems and general industrial fluid pipelines. Adopting wafer clamping connection and direct lever operation structure, the valve features simple structure, low cost and convenient operation, which is one of the most popular pipeline control valves for small and medium-caliber piping networks.
The valve body is cast from high-strength ductile iron with excellent pressure resistance and impact toughness. An integrated EPDM rubber liner is installed inside the valve cavity. When the butterfly disc closes, it closely fits the elastic liner to achieve bidirectional bubble-tight zero leakage. EPDM material possesses outstanding anti-ageing performance and good adaptability to conventional water media, suitable for long-term transportation of tap water, cooling circulating water and fire service water.
The valve adopts wafer connection structure, which is clamped between two pipeline flanges by full-length through bolts. There are no independent flanges on the valve body. Compared with flanged butterfly valves, it greatly reduces overall thickness, saves raw materials, occupies less installation space and lowers project investment. It is easy to disassemble, inspect and maintain during pipeline renovation.
Operated directly by manual lever, the valve can be quickly switched between fully open and fully closed states by shifting the handle. Clear angle scale marks are set on the valve body to visually display the opening degree. Equipped with positioning locking device, the handle can be fixed at the designated position to prevent random rotation of the butterfly plate caused by fluid impact or pipeline vibration. Without complicated transmission components, the failure rate is low and daily maintenance workload is small.
The valve stem is made of stainless steel and equipped with multi-layer sealing packing to prevent medium leakage along the stem. Built-in anti-blowout stem structure effectively avoids safety hazards caused by instantaneous pipeline pressure surges. Standard pressure grades include PN10 and PN16, and common specifications cover DN40 to DN200. The valve supports horizontal and vertical installation, with no strict restrictions on fluid flow direction.
It should be noted that this butterfly valve is mainly used for pipeline shut-off and occasional flow regulation. Long-term continuous throttling working condition is not recommended. If kept partially open for a long time, high-speed fluid will continuously scour the rubber liner, accelerate abrasion and shorten the service life of sealing components.
All finished valves pass strict shell hydrostatic test and sealing tightness test before delivery. Each valve is inspected to guarantee flexible operation and stable sealing performance. Compared with worm gear and electric butterfly valves, lever wafer butterfly valve has obvious advantages in cost and installation speed for small-caliber pipelines.
With compact body, lightweight design, simple manual operation and reliable elastic sealing, Lever Wafer Butterfly Valve is highly recognized by engineering contractors all over the world. It is extensively applied in water plants, building water supply, sewage treatment and air conditioning systems. Our factory can provide alternative lining materials such as NBR and PTFE, as well as customized anti-corrosion coating solutions to satisfy diversified procurement demands of global customers.
