Y-Type Strainer is a widely used pipeline coarse filtration equipment, extensively applied in municipal water supply, HVAC circulating water, fire protection systems, water treatment, petrochemical and general industrial fluid pipelines. It captures solid impurities including sediment, rust scale, welding slag and particulate contaminants inside fluid, effectively protecting water pumps, regulating valves, flow meters and other precision downstream equipment from abrasion and blockage.
The valve body is available in multiple materials such as ductile iron, cast carbon steel and stainless steel. Connection forms include flanged and threaded types to match different pipe configurations. The internal filter cartridge adopts stainless steel woven mesh or perforated plate, and the mesh number can be customized according to required filtration precision. The cover at the bottom of Y branch can be opened directly for taking out and cleaning the screen without dismantling the whole filter from pipelines.
Under normal operating conditions, fluid flows into the strainer, and impurities are intercepted on the inner surface of the filter screen. With continuous accumulation of dirt, the pressure difference between inlet and outlet will increase. When pressure difference exceeds normal range, maintenance personnel can close the front and rear shut-off valves, remove the bottom cover, take out the filter element for manual cleaning, then reinstall and resume operation.
Standard pressure grades include PN10 and PN16. Complete specifications cover DN15 to DN600. The strainer is suitable for clean water, light oil and other low-corrosion liquid media. Different sealing materials can be selected to adapt to different temperature working conditions. Horizontal and vertical installation are both allowed, and the Y branch is recommended to face downward for convenient dirt collection and discharge.
Important operation reminders: Installation direction must comply with the flow arrow marked on the body. Regularly monitor inlet and outlet pressure difference to arrange cleaning cycle reasonably. Avoid long-term operation under excessive pressure difference to prevent deformation or damage of filter screen. After cleaning, ensure the sealing gasket is installed properly to avoid external leakage. This strainer needs offline manual cleaning and cannot realize online automatic blowdown.
All finished products pass strict shell hydrostatic test and sealing test before delivery. Every unit is inspected to guarantee stable structure and good filtering effect. Compared with automatic backwash filters, Y-type strainer features simple structure, low purchase cost and convenient maintenance, which makes it the most common filtration component in various pipeline projects.
With compact Y-shaped layout, diverse connection options, easy disassembly and reliable filtration performance, Y-Type Strainer has gained wide recognition among global engineering contractors. Our factory can customize body material, filter mesh, flange standard and gasket material to meet diversified procurement demands of municipal and industrial engineering projects.
