DIN standard ductile iron resilient seated gate valve is manufactured strictly in accordance with DIN 3352 F4 specifications, widely recognized across European municipal water supply, building plumbing, irrigation and general water pipeline systems. This series of gate valves serves as an on-off device for clean water and drinking water pipelines and complies with European common standards for fluid control equipment. Thanks to unified DIN flange dimensions and short face-to-face structure, it achieves great interchangeability and can directly replace old-type gate valves in existing European pipeline networks.
The valve body and bonnet are cast from high-grade ductile iron QT450-10 with outstanding mechanical strength, impact resistance and anti-fracture performance compared with grey cast iron. Inner and outer surfaces are covered with fusion bonded epoxy powder coating, which is non-toxic and suitable for potable water transport. The coating effectively isolates corrosion from soil, groundwater and weak acid-base media, extending the service life under buried and indoor installation environments.
The core closing component is an integrally vulcanized EPDM rubber wedge. The elastic wedge structure realizes bidirectional tight sealing with zero leakage. The rubber layer can automatically compensate tiny deformation and abrasion of sealing surfaces caused by long-term operation. The full bore flat bottom cavity avoids sludge and sediment accumulation inside the valve, keeps minimum flow resistance and reduces pipeline pressure loss during fluid transportation. This design performs far better than traditional metal seated gate valves when handling water with fine impurities.
Two mainstream stem structures are available: non-rising stem (NRS) and outside screw & yoke rising stem (OS&Y). The non-rising stem version occupies less installation space and fits underground buried projects. The rising stem design can visually reflect opening position, convenient for regular inspection. The valve stem adopts stainless steel rolled thread, matched with multi-layer waterproof packing to prevent medium leakage along the stem. Nominal pressure covers PN10 and PN16; flange connection dimensions follow DIN 2501 standard. Nominal diameter ranges from DN40 up to DN1200 to satisfy different pipeline caliber demands.
All valves implement strict pressure testing according to ISO 5208 before delivery, including shell strength test and seat tightness test. Blowout-proof stem structure enhances safety under sudden pressure fluctuation. Driving options contain manual handwheel, square cap operation, bevel gear and electric actuator to support automatic remote control for large-scale water supply projects. It should be noted that this resilient seated gate valve only works under fully open or fully closed conditions. Throttling application is prohibited, as partial opening will cause high-speed medium scouring and irreversible damage to the EPDM wedge.
With stable sealing, compact DIN short structure, reliable anticorrosion performance and cost advantages, DIN ductile iron resilient seated gate valve has become a preferred shut-off valve for overseas water engineering projects, especially in EU, Eastern Europe and Middle East markets. Our factory supports customized coating, extension spindle for buried installation and anti-lock structure to meet diversified engineering procurement requirements from global distributors and construction contractors.
