
Resilient seated gate valves are designed with bidirectional flow channel and bidirectional sealing structure. In theory, they have no strict restriction on medium flow direction. However, correct installation direction and posture can effectively extend service life and keep stable sealing performance.
First, although bidirectional sealing is available, it is still suggested to install the valve strictly according to the flow arrow marked on the valve body. Following the marked direction can reduce hydraulic impact on rubber sealing seat, slow down aging of soft seal and avoid long-term erosion damage. Reverse installation will not cause immediate leakage, but will increase opening torque and affect sealing stability under high pressure working conditions.
Second, pay attention to the installation posture. The valve stem should be installed vertically upward as much as possible. Vertical downward stem installation is forbidden, which will easily lead to sediment accumulation, stem corrosion, gate jamming and packing leakage. Slight oblique installation is allowed only when space is limited.
In horizontal pipeline installation, keep the valve body concentric with pipelines and avoid forced connection. Do not install the valve at excessive inclination angle. Meanwhile, ensure enough straight pipe sections at both ends to stabilize water flow state. Before formal operation, check on-off flexibility and sealing condition after installation to eliminate hidden dangers caused by unreasonable direction arrangement.
