Z81X-16 Grooved Rising Stem Resilient Seated Gate Valve is a specially designed shut-off valve for grooved pipeline systems, widely adopted in fire protection piping, building water supply, municipal water distribution and circulating water projects. Combining grooved quick connection, rising stem visual indication and resilient wedge sealing technology, this valve balances easy installation, clear status observation and reliable zero-leakage performance. It has become a preferred option for above-ground pump rooms, equipment rooms and pipe networks requiring real-time valve status inspection.
The valve body and bonnet are cast from high-strength ductile iron with outstanding pressure resistance and impact toughness. Internal and external surfaces are coated with food-grade fusion-bonded epoxy powder coating. The non-toxic coating complies with drinking water standards and delivers reliable anti-corrosion performance against oxidation and water erosion. Adopting flat-bottom full-bore inner cavity structure, the valve effectively prevents sediment accumulation, minimizes flow resistance and ensures smooth fluid flow under fully open status.
The sealing core is an integrally vulcanized EPDM rubber resilient wedge. The fully encapsulated elastic wedge achieves bidirectional bubble-tight zero leakage under PN16 rated pressure. Utilizing excellent elastic recovery of EPDM material, the sealing surface can automatically compensate minor wear, assembly clearance and slight pipeline displacement generated during long-term running. Even when tiny sediment exists in the medium, stable sealing can still be maintained, showing obvious advantages over traditional metal-seated gate valves.
Its typical feature is the rising stem (OS&Y) structure. Valve stem threads are exposed outside the yoke. When opening and closing, the stem lifts vertically along with the wedge. Operators can directly judge fully open or fully closed state by observing the protruding length of the stem without extra detection instruments. This visual position indication makes it highly suitable for fire protection systems and pump stations that require frequent inspection. The stainless steel stem is equipped with multi-layer packing to prevent medium leakage, and built-in blowout-proof stem structure enhances safety under pipeline pressure fluctuations.
Equipped with grooved end connection, the valve can be rapidly assembled with pipe couplings. Welding and complicated flange bolt alignment are no longer needed during construction, greatly shortening construction period and facilitating disassembly for later maintenance and pipeline renovation. The nominal pressure is PN16, and the available diameter covers DN50~DN300. The valve supports horizontal and vertical installation without strict limitation on fluid flow direction.
It should be noted that this resilient seated gate valve is designed only for fully open or fully closed cut-off service. Throttling operation is strictly prohibited. Long-term partial opening will cause continuous medium scouring and irreversible damage to the rubber wedge. All finished valves pass shell hydrostatic test and seat tightness test complying with ISO 5208 before delivery.
Compared with grooved non-rising stem gate valves, Z81X-16 rising stem version provides intuitive status feedback. Fast grooved assembly, visible stem indication and durable soft sealing make it widely recognized by engineering contractors. Our factory can provide anti-theft lock caps and customized anti-corrosion coating to satisfy various fire and water supply engineering procurement demands all over the world.
