XD81X Handle Grooved Signal Butterfly Valve is an indispensable monitoring shut-off valve specially designed for fire protection piping systems. Adopting manual lever operation, grooved end connection and built-in signal feedback mechanism, the valve can control pipeline on-off and transmit real-time valve position signals to fire control cabinet. It is widely installed in automatic sprinkler systems, fire hydrant pipelines, commercial buildings, underground pipe galleries and all kinds of civil and industrial fire fighting projects.
The valve body is cast from high-strength ductile iron with excellent impact resistance and pressure-bearing performance. The inner cavity is equipped with an integrated EPDM rubber liner. When the butterfly disc closes, it closely fits the rubber liner to form bidirectional bubble-tight zero leakage sealing. EPDM material possesses outstanding anti-aging and water corrosion resistance, fully meeting long-term continuous operation requirements of fire water pipelines. Compared with flanged butterfly valves, grooved connection enables rapid assembly with pipe couplings. Welding and complicated bolt alignment are not required during installation, shortening construction period and facilitating disassembly and maintenance in later pipeline renovation.
This series adopts direct manual lever operation structure without worm gear reducer. Operators can quickly switch the valve between fully open and fully closed status by pushing and pulling the handle. The position scale mark on the valve body clearly reflects the opening angle, bringing intuitive operation experience. A positioning locking device is equipped on the handle to fix the butterfly plate at designated positions and prevent accidental rotation caused by water flow impact or pipeline vibration. Simple transmission structure lowers failure rate and reduces daily maintenance workload.
Its core advantage lies in built-in signal feedback unit. Once the valve reaches fully open or fully closed position, internal limit switches will be triggered and output electrical signals to the fire alarm control system. Fire management staff can remotely monitor the pipeline passage status without on-site inspection. If the valve is accidentally closed, the control room will receive prompt alarm information in time, effectively avoiding fire safety hazards resulting from blocked fire pipelines. The signal switch supports normally open and normally closed contacts to match different fire control circuit schemes.
The valve stem is made of stainless steel and fitted with multiple groups of sealing packing to prevent medium leakage along the stem. Anti-blowout stem structure improves safety under instantaneous pipeline pressure fluctuation. Standard nominal pressure is PN16, and nominal diameter covers DN50 to DN200. The valve can be installed horizontally or vertically with no strict restrictions on fluid flow direction.
It should be noted that this signal butterfly valve is designed as shut-off equipment. Long-term throttling working condition is not recommended. Remaining partially open for a long time will lead to continuous medium scouring on EPDM liner, accelerating wear and shortening service life. All finished valves pass strict shell hydrostatic test and sealing test before delivery. Each set of signal assembly undergoes repeated switching tests to guarantee sensitive and accurate signal transmission.
With fast grooved installation, simple manual lever operation, compact structure, reliable elastic sealing and real-time valve status feedback, XD81X Handle Grooved Signal Butterfly Valve meets international fire engineering acceptance standards. It has become the preferred valve for small and medium-caliber fire pipelines. Our factory can provide customized signal components and special anti-corrosion lining solutions to satisfy diversified procurement demands from global fire engineering contractors.
